Tottenham Reignite Talks for Crystal Palace Star Eberechi Eze
Accra, Ghana – Tottenham Hotspur have reopened negotiations with Crystal Palace over the potential signing of England international Eberechi Eze, with discussions intensifying between both clubs today.
According to reports, Spurs tabled a £55 million offer plus an additional £5 million in add-ons on Monday. While Palace have so far stood firm on their valuation of the midfielder, talks have resumed as Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Eagles chairman Steve Parish remain in direct contact to strike a deal.
Eze, 26, has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most sought-after creative midfielders following his standout performances at Selhurst Park. His ability to glide past defenders, combined with his eye for goal and versatility across attacking roles, has made him a priority target for Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou as he looks to bolster his squad for the 2025/26 campaign.
Crystal Palace, however, are under no pressure to sell, having tied Eze down to a long-term contract last year. The South London club are expected to demand a fee closer to the player’s reported release clause, which exceeds the current Tottenham proposal.
Eze’s potential arrival would provide Spurs with an additional creative spark in midfield, complementing the likes of James Maddison and Son Heung-min, while also easing the attacking burden on young striker Alejo Véliz and new signing Santiago Giménez.
The England international, who was part of Gareth Southgate’s squad at Euro 2024, is keen to take the next step in his career, though he has maintained professionalism and commitment at Palace amid the ongoing speculation.
With the transfer window edging closer to its deadline, Spurs are expected to push hard to finalize a deal. Whether Palace relent on their asking price could determine if Eze makes the move to North London this summer.
