Killer holds bloody knife in his hand, drops of blood flowing down on the murder weapon in the hand of maniac
Tension has gripped the Kwabenya Comet community in Accra after an Okada rider was found murdered with his throat slit—the second such incident in the area in just a few months.
The victim, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, was discovered in the early hours of Saturday under circumstances residents say closely resemble the killing of Immigration Officer Stephen Amoah, who was found dead in a similar manner in the same locality earlier this year.
The recurring nature of the murders has sparked fear and unease among residents, many of whom say they now live in constant dread.
“This is becoming too frequent. We don’t feel safe anymore,” one community member told reporters, calling for heightened security patrols.
The Ghana Police Service has launched investigations, though no arrests have yet been made.
Kwabenya’s rapid urbanisation, combined with poorly lit streets and densely populated settlements, has long posed challenges for law enforcement, allowing criminals to strike and vanish with relative ease.
The spate of killings has renewed public pressure on authorities to step up security measures and restore calm in a community now described by locals as living under a “reign of terror.”
