Accra, Ghana – Nine men have appeared before the Adabraka District Court for their alleged involvement in the brutal assault of Mutala Yayaa at Darkuman on September 10, 2025. The attack, captured in a video that went viral on social media, showed the group violently attacking the victim.

According to a police statement on Friday, the accused — Bernard Tagoe (alias Asa Sese), Nii Eric Martey, Michael Lokko, Felix Adu Mensah, Habib Gusamu, Solomon Assan, Kwame Khalid, Jacob Addy, and Gideon Arthur — allegedly used weapons including a cutlass, axe, and scissors, leaving Yayaa with severe head and body injuries.

All nine have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and causing harm. They pleaded not guilty and were remanded into police custody, with the court scheduling their next appearance for September 29, 2025.
Police confirmed that four other suspects, identified only as Yaala, Show, Joseph Gattor, Savess, and John Km, remain at large, with a manhunt underway.

The Accra Regional Police Command cautioned the public to avoid violence and to use lawful avenues to resolve disputes.
