Kasoa Triple Murder Suspect Arrested After Year-Long Manhunt
Accra, Ghana – The Ghana Police Service has arrested Samuel Amoah, popularly known as Biggie, the prime suspect in the gruesome killing of a woman and her two children at Tuba Net-Link Estates, near Kasoa in the Central Region.
Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, confirmed at a press briefing on Saturday that Amoah was arrested on September 17, 2025, at Suhum in the Eastern Region after more than a year on the run.
The crime, which shocked the nation, occurred on May 19, 2024, when police responded to a distress call about a violent attack inside a residence. Officers found the lifeless bodies of 39-year-old Alberta Hagan and two of her children in their bedroom, all lying in pools of blood.
A third child was discovered alive but with deep head injuries, while a five-month-old baby was found unharmed on a sofa in the living room. The injured child was rushed to hospital, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for autopsy.
“Postmortem examinations confirmed that the victims died from severe head injuries caused by assault,” COP Donkor said.

Police investigations linked Amoah, who was in a romantic relationship with Ms. Hagan, to the murders. Their relationship had reportedly broken down over financial disputes, which police believe triggered the brutal attack.
“In a fit of rage, the suspect attacked Alberta and the two children who witnessed the incident,” COP Donkor revealed.
After the killings, Amoah fled and successfully evaded capture for over a year. Intelligence-led operations eventually tracked him to Suhum, where he was apprehended. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the murders and expressed remorse.
He is currently in police custody and is expected to face charges including murder.
The victims were laid to rest on June 22, 2024, while the surviving injured child continues to recover.
“The Ghana Police Service assures the public that this case is being handled with urgency and professionalism to ensure justice for the victims and their families,” COP Donkor added.
