Accra – September 12, 2025 — The Accra Circuit Court has, for the second time this week, remanded the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, into police custody for one week.
Abronye reappeared in court on Friday, September 12, 2025, following an earlier remand on Wednesday, September 9. The court explained that the extension was to provide prosecutors with sufficient time to conduct further investigations into the matter.
Arrest and Charges
The outspoken NPP chairman was arrested on Monday, September 8, over what police described as “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of public peace.”
Though details of the alleged offence remain under investigation, the case has already attracted significant political attention and divided public opinion.
NPP Vows Protests
Speaking to Adom News after Friday’s proceedings, the NPP’s National Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, vowed that the party would continue to stage protests until what it calls “true justice” is served.
“We will not relent. We believe our chairman is being unfairly targeted, and we will demonstrate until justice prevails,” he said.
Abronye remains in police custody as investigations continue, with his next court appearance expected later this month.
