“Akufo-Addo would be dead by now if God still killed people,” – Communicator for the NDC

Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy National Communications Officer Kweku Boahen has made disparaging remarks about President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, claiming that the President would have been killed for lying repeatedly if divine retribution for dishonesty still applied as it did in ancient times.
Kweku Boahen charged that the president was out of touch with the country’s realities and was only repeating statements written by his advisors.
His remarks come after Akufo-Addo’s recent speech during the Eid-Ul-Adha celebrations, in which he voiced optimism in returning the nation’s economy to full health, adding, “We’re working to restore the economy to full health, and Inshallah, we shall do so.”
On June 29, 2023, Boahen proclaimed, “Those times that God used to kill people, if we were in those days, Akufo-Addo would have been struck dead, he doesn’t speak the truth.” Boahen was participating in a panel discussion on UTV’s Adekye Nsroma.

“He is a liar, he is like Bawumia, and he doesn’t even know what is going on in the country,” the speaker said.
His claim that the President wouldn’t be able to write a check for 3 million Ghana cedis if given a pen further questioned the President’s knowledge and competency.
He continued by criticizing President Akufo-Addo’s purported lack of involvement in national matters, saying the President seldom ever reads and often nods off during speeches.
If you give Akufo-Addo a pen, can he write a check for three million Ghana cedis? He is a writer. Does he even know what is going on in the country? He doesn’t read, and he sleeps during every program he attends.Ask anyone in Accra if they have been able to install a meter in their home in the last two months if there is light, as he claimed there is. Added he.
Boahen asserts that the President makes hollow promises rather than evoking hope and aspiration. “You want us to entertain the president who we look up to and who gives us hope and aspirations, yet he is feeding us lies. President Akufo-Addo is a waste.
