Asante Akyem, October 5, 2025 — Some delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asante Akyem area have thrown their weight behind Bryan Acheampong, describing the Abetifi MP as a unifier and the best candidate to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.

Speaking to Adom News, the delegates praised the former Minister for Food and Agriculture for his calm demeanor, inclusive leadership style, and ability to engage respectfully with colleagues across different factions within the party.

According to them, Bryan Acheampong possesses the vision and temperament needed to restore unity and strengthen the NPP’s internal structures following recent electoral and organizational challenges.

Deputy Youth Organizer for Asante Akyem South, Charles Wiafe Kwabena, lauded Acheampong as “a presidential candidate that can be trusted to lead with integrity, discipline, and foresight.”

The endorsement comes amid growing internal discussions within the NPP over who should succeed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s next flagbearer.

Party insiders say Acheampong’s growing grassroots appeal, particularly among youth and constituency executives, positions him as one of the early frontrunners in what is expected to be a highly competitive leadership race.

Supporters believe his blend of public service experience, organizational strength, and strategic political engagement could help consolidate party unity and enhance the NPP’s chances in 2028.

So far, the Abetifi legislator has not officially declared his intention to contest, but his name continues to feature prominently in internal conversations about the NPP’s post-2024 leadership direction.
