The Assin North by-election is currently taking place in Ghana’s Central Region, and the Ghana Police Service has detained a man for tampering with the electoral procedures.
Another individual has been detained for impersonating a police officer.
The Assin North residents and all Ghanaians have been assured by the Ghana Police Service that sufficient security measures have been put in place to maintain safety, law, and order before, during, and after Tuesday’s by-election.
This comes after Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, Inspector-General of Police, met with important by-election participants.
The final security plan for the election took into account the security worries of all the stakeholders, according to a statement released in Accra by Assistant Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs.
