The Central Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for six suspects who broke out of custody at the Kotokuraba Police Station on Thursday night, September 11, 2025.
According to a police statement, the suspects — identified as Kofi Asifuah, Ernest Kojo, Ekow Arhinful, Toffic Faisal, Henry Kwofie, and Innusah Addai — were being held for various criminal offences when they escaped at about 9:00 p.m
Investigations reveal that earlier that evening, at about 8:40 p.m., the supervising inspector instructed the station orderly to buy food for the inmates following complaints of hunger. Shortly after, the inmates requested water to flush the WC, citing that the taps were not flowing. In the process of opening the cell door to hand them water, six out of the eight inmates overpowered the inspector and fled.

Despite an immediate search led by the District Commander and the night patrol team, the suspects could not be traced.

Police have since appealed to the public to provide any credible information that may lead to the swift recapture of the fugitives.
