Complete madness! Kwakye Ofosu responds to the lawsuit opposing Mahama’s candidacy for 2024.

Former deputy information minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu called the lawsuit challenging former president John Dramani Mahama’s eligibility to run in the general elections of 2024 “madness.”

“The NPP is finally in a state of madness, thus they want the court to prevent JM from running in the 2024 elections. Absolutely insane,” he tweeted.

“A declaration that on a true and proper interpretation of Article 66 (1) of the 1992 Constitution, the number of years of a presidential term in Ghana is four years,” is one of the reliefs he is requesting.

“A declaration that a candidate for a second term in office must be the incumbent president, according to a truthful and accurate interpretation of Articles 66(1) and (2) of the 1992 Constitution.

“An order directed at [John Mahama] to fully disclose to the Parliament the terms of his engagements with the Parliament as the flagbearer of a political party.”

Recently, the former President John Mahama was chosen to represent the NDC in the general elections in 2024.

He received 297,603 (98.9%) of all valid votes cast during the NDC primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023, making him the party’s fourth presidential candidate.
