Fear Grips Kpele-Xorse as Farmer Disappears, Finger Found on Farm
Residents of Kpele-Xorse, a farming community in the Ho West District of the Volta Region, have been plunged into fear following the mysterious disappearance of a local farmer, whose finger and traces of blood were discovered on his farmland.
The missing man, identified as Mr. Adovor Kodzo Delali, believed to be in his late 50s, is married with four children. According to Mr. Divin Tutu, Assembly member for the Lpele electoral area, Delali left home early yesterday morning to tend to his farm but failed to return, prompting alarm from his family.
A search organized by relatives and neighbors led to the grim discovery of bloodstains across the farmland, along with what appeared to be Delali’s finger. The unsettling scene has stirred tension in the community, with some residents fearing foul play or a possible ritual attack.
Local authorities have been notified, and the police have launched a formal investigation. The Hlesi Police, under the supervision of the Anyonawase Police Command, reportedly collected the alleged finger and other evidence, though the finger remains in the custody of the family as inquiries continue.
Community leaders and assembly members have urged residents to remain calm while security agencies work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the farmer’s disappearance. Family members have also appealed to anyone with information to assist the police in locating him.
The incident has reignited calls for enhanced security in rural farming communities, where individuals working alone are particularly vulnerable to potential dangers.
