‘I have been seeing demons’ – KNUST student reveals in suicide note

Frequently, when someone commits suicide, they leave behind a note that explains why they wanted to end their lives.

This terrible pattern allegedly continued on Tuesday, July 4, when a male medical student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
The teenager in question attempted suicide by jumping from the top floor of the Brunie Complex in a social media video that went viral.
Some students helped stop his attempt to end his life by assisting him in climbing up from the balcony.

But before that, he supposedly left a message outlining his motivations in his death.  The medical student, whose identity has been hidden to preserve his mental health, claimed that he had been experiencing demon sightings and had been experiencing sleep paralysis for almost two years.

He described how, after praying that fateful night, he came face to face with a demon.

I’ve been hearing a demon speak and have been seeing them. I know many people will believe I’m making this up, but forget it. I’m so sane. By now, I’m most likely dead.

He claimed that “Stupid boy” was the demon’s exact words.

Additionally, the pupil was depressed. After considering all of this, he “didn’t think there was reason enough to live.”

According to the lengthy note, the male student sought help from some friends before attempting suicide, but the advice he received did not convince him to stop.

The student admitted that while he was afraid of ending his life, he felt relieved that it would not be for very long.

He wrote, “I’m very afraid, but it will only take a few seconds.”

He addressed his mother and father in the first line of his death letter. I have to complete this. Mum, I adore you. I’m sorry, Daddy, I couldn’t finish medical school,” he wrote.

Many people have been profoundly affected by the death message, which has caused them to consider its deeper implications.

Realizing that mental health is just as important as physical health is crucial. It takes fortitude and not weakness to seek expert assistance for mental health problems. Psychologists, counselors, and therapists are well-equipped to help people manage their emotions, develop useful coping mechanisms, and rediscover their sense of purpose.

Alarming figures from the World Health Organization (WHO) show that suicide claims the lives of over 700,000 people each year. There are many more people who make an attempt at suicide for every suicide. This demonstrates the pressing need for mental health education, assistance, and intervention to stop similar tragedies from happening.
