I will beat Mahama in the north, change the Zongos – Bawumia

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), according to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is wary of him because they know that if he were chosen as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, the 2024 election would be decided before it ever began.

Speaking to some NPP supporters in Accra over the weekend, Dr. Bawumia claimed that the NDC is so terrified of him because they know he will defeat their nominee, John Dramani Mahama, in all the northern areas of Ghana and cut down on their support in their strongholds.

It is hardly surprising, he continued, that the NDC is making every effort to prevent Dr. Bawumia from leading the NPP.
Are they not urging you to cast your ballot for me? They are aware that their campaign will fail if the NPP chooses Bawumia as their nominee. They are aware that their campaign is ended. They would have problems. They are aware that we would break the 8.

They are aware that John Mahama cannot defeat me in the north. He will be me up north. They are aware that the Zongos will evolve, is that not true? We would gain something from Volta as well.

They advise voting for someone else instead than Bawumia. Someone wants to choose a striker for you as you prepare to compete against them. Is that the process? No, he replied.

Therefore, the vice president urged NPP delegates to support him heavily in the next primaries.
