Residents of Asante New Town in Kumasi have been left in shock following the tragic killing of a 20-year-old man, identified as Kwadwo Bright, during a dispute over a plastic chair.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred at a popular snooker game centre in the community. The altercation reportedly began when Kwadwo and a friend both laid claim to the same chair.
Although bystanders initially intervened to calm tempers, tensions flared up again moments later. The suspect allegedly confronted Kwadwo a second time and stabbed him in the neck.
The young man was rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, but doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Police have since launched an investigation into the incident, while residents continue to grapple with the shocking loss of the young man’s life over what many described as “a trivial misunderstanding.”
