Mother of Late Sergeant Ernest Addo-Mensah Shares Heartbreaking Account After Helicopter Crash
The mother of the late Sergeant Ernest Addo-Mensah has spoken publicly for the first time since her son’s tragic death in the recent Ghana Armed Forces helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of eight people, including senior government officials and military personnel.
In an exclusive interview with NDA Media, the grieving mother recounted the emotional moments leading up to the tragedy. She revealed that her daughter-in-law broke down in tears when Sergeant Addo-Mensah informed her he had been assigned to accompany VVIP passengers on the ill-fated trip.
The bereaved mother disclosed that she had spent only a week with her son’s wife following their wedding. Sergeant Addo-Mensah had recently secured a U.S. visa and was preparing to resign from the military to begin a new life abroad.
Tragically, his plans were cut short when he died barely a month after marrying his sweetheart, leaving his young wife and family shattered.
Fighting back tears, she revealed that she has been unable to watch the distressing video showing the charred remains of her son and the seven other victims being retrieved from the crash site in cocoa sacks.
The Ghana Armed Forces have yet to release a detailed account of the incident, as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
