NPP Youth Organisers Pick Nomination Forms for Bawumia
Over 490 constituency youth organisers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have picked up nomination forms for former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the party’s January 2026 presidential primaries.
The group — comprising both substantive and deputy youth leaders from constituencies across the country — visited the NPP headquarters on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, to secure the forms. They later presented them to Dr. Bawumia at his campaign office, pledging their unwavering support for his candidacy.
Dr. Bawumia described the gesture as a remarkable show of trust and confidence.
“The youth organisers of our party across the length and breadth of the country — 490 out of 552 — came to me. The leadership requested that they wanted to put their widows’ mite together and pick my nomination forms for me. I agreed because that was a remarkable vote of confidence in me,” he said.
He further commended the youth wing for their commitment and underscored their role as a vital asset to the party and the nation.
Dr. Bawumia cautioned against divisive politics, urging supporters to avoid insults and focus on unity. He also encouraged a campaign based on substantive policy debates rather than personal attacks.
“I’m minded to contest the flagbearership of the NPP. I will make a full declaration in that regard when I go to submit the form you have delivered to me,” he noted.
The move by the youth organisers marks one of the most visible early endorsements for Dr. Bawumia in the lead-up to the party’s presidential contest.
