Okyeame Kwame to Ghanaians: Stop those “silly things” against homosexuals

It is unacceptable to insult members of the gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI+) community since they have rights, according to renowned Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame.
The “Yeeko” singer claims that while he is not opposed to the LGBTQ+ community’s activities, it is up to the country to decide whether or not to legalize gay rights.
“I think that it’s completely wrong to beat LGBTQ people because you find two men kissing somewhere and you take cameras and video them, and put them on social media for shaming,” the artist said.

Okyeame Kwame said to Caroline Sampson, the show’s host, “But the issue of whether it should be accepted into our culture or not, I think the nation must decide.”

“Based on my concept of love, I see that they [LGBTQ people] are suffering a lot and we should cut them some slack when it comes to those silly things we do to them,” he declared.
