The tragic incident, which occurred between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Saturday, has left the local community in shock and fear.
Chairman of the Auto Rickshaw Riders at the Biadan Station, Nana Yusuf Bakari, told Adom News that he rushed to the scene with police officers, only to find Bernard lying lifeless in his tricycle.
“He was shot in the head and left dead in his Pragya,” Mr. Bakari confirmed, warning that if such attacks continue, riders may be forced to suspend night operations in Sofokyere.
Family’s Pain
The victim’s father, Seth Kyere, expressed deep shock over his son’s sudden death.
According to him, Bernard was at home on Friday evening but later received a phone call around 8 p.m. and left with his tricycle.
“I thought he was on his usual night rounds, so I went to bed. But at dawn, I was informed that my son had been killed,” the distraught father recounted.
He has since appealed to the security services to thoroughly investigate the killing and bring the perpetrators to justice.
