Prudential Bank Leads International Trade Tour to Turkey, Qatar, and China to Boost Business Growth
In a major move to enhance trade facilitation and expand market access for Ghanaian businesses, Prudential Bank Ghana has organized a comprehensive international business tour for its commercial banking clients and prospects. The initiative — conducted in partnership with Nita Travel & Shipping Company — took participants across Turkey, Qatar, and China, targeting new trade opportunities and strategic partnerships.
The tour, according to the bank, is part of a broader mission to provide business advisory support and empower clients with global trade insights.
“We are dedicated to ensuring our customers get the best from their trading activities,” said Bernard Gyebi, Managing Director of Prudential Bank. “This business trip is a testament to our goal of providing stress-free business deals for our cherished customers.”

Connecting Ghanaian Businesses to Global Markets
The first leg of the tour saw a delegation travel to Turkey, where they attended the African Business Forum and Expo (AFEX) — a two-day international trade fair that connected participants with investors and business leaders from across Europe and Africa.
Another group visited Qatar, before the entire delegation reconvened in China for the final leg. In China, participants were given guided tours of leading product markets including:
-
Furniture
-
Hardware
-
Jewelry
-
Electronics
-
Cosmetics
-
Clothing
These market visits enabled the delegation to engage in direct sourcing, price negotiations, and the formation of new supplier relationships — all key tools for sustaining competitiveness in international trade.
Driving Customer Value Through Innovation
Accompanying the delegation was Frederick Adomako-Ansah, Head of Commercial Banking at Prudential Bank, who praised the tour as a major success:
“The customers had a wonderful experience, and the guided tours provided unique insights that shaped their time in China and the other countries. This is the value we want to give to our customers as a Bank.”
In line with Ghana’s cash-lite agenda, Prudential Bank also used the opportunity to showcase its Union Pay International (UPI) card — tailored specifically for use in China and the broader Asian region — allowing seamless transactions during the tour.
Customer Feedback & Future Plans
Participants expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity, with many calling for the initiative to become an annual program, preferably with extended durations in each country. This overwhelming feedback signals strong demand for similar future initiatives and underscores the bank’s growing role in facilitating international trade for Ghanaian SMEs and enterprises.
With this strategic business trip, Prudential Bank is positioning itself as a key enabler of global business connectivity, driving not only customer satisfaction but also long-term economic value.
