Speaker Bagbin invites chiefs to Parliament House to assess performance of elected MPs

Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, the speaker of parliament, has urged chiefs and other traditional figures to visit the house of Parliament while it is in session to evaluate the performance of their chosen representatives.
On June 22, 2023, the speaker made this request during a parliamentary session.
In order to promote responsibility and uphold law and order within the parliamentary body, he emphasized the significance of such visits.
Speaker Bagbin stated in his speech that he wanted chiefs and other traditional leaders to see for themselves the job that their elected members of parliament are doing.

He prayed that even our chiefs would have time to come check how their children and grandchildren were doing in the home.
He believed that the presence of traditional leaders in Parliament might help to keep the house law and orderly.
