The Assin North Constituency is experiencing a strong political climate as the by-election date approaches.
Bigwigs from the two largest political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the primary opposition party, and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), have descended to Assin North to canvass support for their parties’ candidate.
Haruna Iddrisu, a former minority leader and current member of parliament for Tamale South, was apprehended in the area while supporting James Gyakye Quayson, an NDC candidate, in the by-election.
