We’ll reward the people of Assin North for their trust and loyalty in NDC

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has promised the residents of Assin North in the Central Region that, should it prevail in the general election of 2024, the party will not abandon them.
The NDC claims that it would honor the Assin North residents for their devotion to the party and their faith in it.
The party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, addressed party members at a Thanksgiving rally on Sunday in Assin Breku. He thanked the residents of Assin North for their overwhelming support of the party’s parliamentary candidate, James Gyakye Quayson, during the recent Assin North by-election and for ultimately re-electing him as a Member of Parliament.
“…If history is being written about elections in Ghana, the people of Assin North will have their name written in gold. This by-election is the begging of our march to recapture power. We are carrying the same momentum to the 2024 general election. I have faith in the Almighty God to grant the NDC victory in the next election.”

Further assuring the party’s unwavering support for Hon. James Gyakye Quayson, who is facing charges of perjury, forgery, and other criminal offenses relating to his Ghanaian passport and eligibility to run in the 2020 general elections, former president John Mahama also reaffirmed the party’s position on the case.
The revered High Court judge known as The Dormaahene has pleaded with President Akufo-Addo and the Attorney General to drop the charges since further prosecution is not necessary. However, he received harsh criticism for his appeal. Whatever they do, we in the NDC will continue to support Gyakye Quayson unwaveringly. If the Attorney General decides to drop the matter, we will be fine with that. He will have our support in the morning, noon, and night.
James Gyakye Quayson, the recently elected MP, thanked the people of Assin North for their overwhelming support and the honor bestowed upon him.
He declared that he does not take the honor bestowed upon him for granted and vowed to put in a lot of effort to help the community advance.
The Leadership of the Minority Caucus in Parliament, numerous NDC MPs, and a large crowd of party supporters withstood the rain to attend the Thanksgiving rally and celebrate Hon. Gyakye Quayson’s triumph.
